marIf you’re going for the full experience, we really recommend you to travel by boat; for locals, this is the favoured means to reach the Casamance.

The boat trip takes about 8 hours and the destination is Zigunchor. Boats leave from Dakar every Tuesday and Thursday, with prices between 16,000 and 30,000 Cfas.

tierraFrom Dakar’s Gare Routière, coaches and sept places (taxis allowing for up to 7 people) leave everyday. It is very important that you leave really early in the morning, since the trip may take between 8 hours and… one day! This will depend on the traffic and the type of transport you choose.

The benefits of travelling like this are low costs (7,000 Cfas for the coach, 10,500 for the sept place) and a good chance to enjoy the landscape of Senegal, as you will cross several regions of the country. The ideal option for those who enjoy adventure!
